Delete your Fly Friendly account
This page explains how to delete your account and data in Fly Friendly, the app by Varintha Chetanasena (operating as Fly Friendly).
Before you start: cancel any subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a Pro subscription, because billing is handled by Apple or Google. Cancel it first:
- iPhone / iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Fly Friendly › Cancel Subscription, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
- Android: Google Play › profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Fly Friendly › Cancel, or play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
Option 1: in the app (immediate)
- Open Fly Friendly and sign in.
- Tap the gear icon (top right) to open Profile & settings.
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted, type the confirmation word (DELETE in English), and tap Delete my account.
Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out. Other devices signed in to the account lose access shortly afterwards.
Option 2: without the app (by email)
If you no longer have the app, send an email to support@flyfriendly.site:
- From the email address you use to sign in to Fly Friendly (so we know the request is yours).
- Subject: Delete my account. Add your username if you remember it.
We may reply to that address to confirm before deleting. We delete the account within 7 days of your confirmation and email you when it is done. We never ask for your password.
What is deleted
- Your account, email address and password, and every sign-in session.
- Your profile: username, display name, profile picture, language and all settings.
- All your flights, including seats, notes, tags, booking references, sharing choices and import history.
- Your friendships, friend requests, “fly together” invites, invite link, “notify me” watches, blocks, and reports filed by you or about you. Flights you shared disappear from your friends' lists.
- Your push and Live Activity tokens, notification settings and queued alerts.
- Your subscription status and any Pro grant in our database. We also ask RevenueCat (our subscription provider) to delete your customer record.
What is kept, and for how long
- Records of calls to our flight-data provider: kept for cost accounting with your user ID removed at deletion; after 90 days only daily totals remain.
- Purchase event records sent to us by the stores (a billing audit trail that includes your former user ID): kept as accounting and tax records for 5 years from when we receive them, then deleted automatically.
- Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases under their privacy policies. If RevenueCat could not be reached at the moment of deletion, we delete your record there by hand within 7 days.
- Server logs and backups may contain your data until they expire: logs after 14 days, backups after 5 weeks.
- Public flight information (schedules, status, gates and aircraft of flights) is in our shared flight database only for about 5 days after we fetch it, then removed. It is about the flight, not about you, and is not linked to your account.
- Files you exported or shared yourself (for example a CSV or share image) are not under our control. A friend's phone may still show a copy of a flight you shared until their app next refreshes.
Delete some data but keep the account
- A flight: open it and delete it.
- Your profile picture: Profile & settings › tap your picture › remove it.
- A friend: open their profile and remove or block them.
- Anything else: email support@flyfriendly.site from your account's address and tell us what to delete.
